Fun times will be in bloom at the South Texas Botanical Gardens on Saturday.
The Botanical garden will be holding its annual Big Bloom Plant Sale and Garden Festival on April 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 8545 S. Staples.

This is the biggest event of the year for the garden, and tons of plants from all across the state, including native and tropical plants, even butterfly plants and plants not found at other nurseries, will be on display and available for purchase.

“We usually have somewhere between 5,000 and 6,000 people that visit us on that single day,” said Dr. Michael Womack, executive director for the South Texas Botanical Garden and Nature Center. “They get to see a little bit about what we’re doing and they’ll hopefully go back in the community, talk to their friends about it, or come back and visit us at other times during the year.”
