The Coastal Bend Food Bank serves 11 counties and 79,000 people throughout the Coastal Bend.

With the help of CITGO Refinery, the Coastal Bend Food Bank can reach the areas hit by Hurricane Harvey at a better rate. CITGO donated a new refrigerated food truck, or mobile food pantry, to the food bank. This truck in particular will be going to the areas effected by Harvey.

Christina Cisneros Guzman with CITGO Refinery says, “it’s important for us to find corporate partners that make that kind of a difference in peoples lives. And by partnering with them [Coastal Bend Food Bank], we hope that our small gift will enable them to do the tremendous work they do in the Coastal Bend to a greater level.”

On Monday at 10:30 a.m., the food bank will have a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new truck, CITGO, the mayor and other officials will be in attendance.
