Touch-A-Truck Family Event

and last updated

The Junior League of Corpus Christi (JLCC) has once again put together their Touch-A-Truck event earlier today at Water’s Edge Park (602 S. Shoreline Blvd.).

This FREE family event provided a fun and unique opportunity for children to explore vehicles of all types, including public service and emergency vehicles, as well as utility, construction, landscaping, transportation and delivery trucks and more.

Children were allowed to touch their favorite vehicles, get behind the wheel, and even meet the people who help build, protect, and serve our community.

Crafts, games and food trucks were also a big part of the day’s activities.

Proceeds from Touch-A-Truck will be used to support community outreach programs focused on literacy, S.T.E.M. and Done in a Day projects that target specific community needs. Helping JLCC bring this event to the Corpus Christi Bayfront is HEB. They are also providing t-shirts to the first 1,000 children who attend.

The fun started at 10 a.m. and the first two hours was “horns free” for children sensitive to loud sounds. Then, from Noon until 2 p.m., children were invited to test the horn on each of the trucks at the park.
