A Texas lawmaker recently filed another resolution to officially make the breakfast taco the official state breakfast item of Texas.
According to the Statesman in Austin, HCR 123, was filed back on March 7, 2019, by Rep. Stephanie Klick, R-Fort Worth.
In the resolution, Rep. Klick states, “Whether purchased at a drive-through in Fort Worth, ordered at a restaurant in Corpus Christi, or served by a loving grandmother in Del Rio, the breakfast taco has become a signature Texas food on a par with barbecue and chicken-fried steak, and it is enjoyed by countless residents of the Lone Star State each morning as the perfect way to start their day.”
The Statesman reports Rep. Klick filed the same resolution in the last legislative session, however, it did not make it out of committee.
