Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Spring Break is in full swing and there are loads of fun opportunities to take advantage of this weekend.
Shamrock Shuffle
Run, walk, shuffle, or chase your way to the 5th Annual St. Patrick School Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run/ Walk and 1K Leprechaun Chase this Saturday.
The race will kick off at 9 a.m. at Cassidy’s and will be the start of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival Downtown
Children 8 and under will be tasked with chasing a Leprechaun to his pot of gold for a prize, and racers will be treated to music, refreshments, a costume contest, prizes, and there are even a limited amount of VIP experiences available.
Besides being a blast, the race is actually a fundraiser for St. Patricks School, and you can sign up here.

St. Patrick’s Day Festival Downtown
After the Shamrock Shuffle, celebrate all things Irish at Cassidy’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Downtown Corpus Christi.
This 8th annual festival has more to offer than its previous years. All day Saturday and Sunday, attendees will be able to see over 20 bands and Celtic dance groups on two stages.
Don’t forget to bring an appetite. With over 40 food trucks and vendors, it will be difficult not to find something you love. As always the green beer will be flowing.
Texas Veterans Benefits Fair
A free benefits fair for Texas veterans will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday at the Corpus Christi VA Outpatient Clinic. It’s open to all area veterans, military members, and their families.
Officials from the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) will be on hand to provide information on state programs including land, home, and home improvement loans, Texas state veterans homes, cemeteries for veterans and military members, pending healthcare claims, health care needs, education and employment benefits, and much more.

Monster Truck War
Engines will rev and stuff will be crushed at the wildest monster truck show to ever come to South Texas.
This monster event takes place at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairground in the equestrian covered arena in Robstown.
Some of these 12,000-pound monsters have been seen on TV competing in monster truck competitions, and you can witness the best of the best battle it out right here in the Coastal Bend.
Some of the most decorated trucks include Outlaw, El Loco Oso, Sherrif, and Carolina Crusher.
