Refugio Elementary School is closed again due to further bat sightings.
The campus was originally closed on Feb. 18 after the bats were found. The school said they took the necessary steps to make sure the elementary campus is a safe, clean environment for students and staff and had the building professionally cleaned.
The school reopened Wednesday. A post Sunday by Refugio independent School District said the school is again closed until further notice.
Bats can carry bacteria and viruses that are harmful to humans so school officials say they want to make sure the building is clear of bats before students and staff are allowed back in.
