Corpus Christi police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a woman.
The crash happened along S.P.I.D. westbound lanes between Everhart and Weber Road just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The crash involved three vehicles.
According to police, when officers arrived at the scene, a woman believed to be in her 60’s was pronounced dead.
Police added they do not believe alcohol played a factor. They did say speed most likely played a factor in the crash.
Captain Dave Cook, with the Corpus Christi police department, said, “It’s a tragic situation. Someone lost their life but people just to need to slow down on the freeway.”
As a result of the incident, traffic was diverted from the crash scene.
Investigators say the victim was not wearing her seat-belt.
The investigation is still on-going.
