Refugio Elementary School will reopen on Wednesday after being closed due to a problem with bats in the building.
A post by the Refugio Independent School District on Facebook says they took the necessary steps to make sure the elementary campus is a safe, clean environment for students and staff. The campus is currently being professionally cleaned as a result of the bat situation.
The campus was closed on Monday after the bats were found. They can carry bacteria and viruses that are harmful to humans so school officials wanted to make sure the building was clear of bats.
