The Corpus Christi Police Department is hosting a Community Meeting tomorrow to get input from residents about any concerns they have about their neighborhood.

CCPD is holding the meeting at Rose Shaw Elementary at 2920 Soledad. They along with Animal Care Services, Code Enforcement and other city departments will be there.

CCPD Deputy Chief Billy Breedlove said they hold these kind of meetings every three months in different parts of town. He said these kind of meetings help the department come up with new initiatives to make the city safer.

“We think we know what’s important to police but really, we need our citizens to tell us what’s important. So, this is an opportunity to share their concerns and to make sure we’re addressing their concerns,” Breedlove said, “Without that we come up with initiatives that we think make our city safer. Without that input from the community, it may not be the right direction. this sort of gives us that information we can hear what the community needs and address those concerns.”

The meeting will be held tomorrow. It runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Breedlove said the meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend.
