Corpus Christi police have arrested a man, accused of shooting a family member, killing him.

The incident happened in the 300 block of Baker Drive near Driscoll Middle School around 6:50 p.m. Sunday.

According to police, Jesus Alberto Gamez, 57, got into an argument with a family member in his mid-thirties and as the victim drove away, Gamez fired a gunshot.

Investigators said the victim was struck by a bullet and drove his truck just a block away but crashed into another vehicle in the 400 block of Brooks Drive.

Police officers and an ambulance crew arrived at the scene and the man was transported to a hospital. Police say he died from his injuries.

Gamez was arrested Monday afternoon. He was later booked in the Nueces County Jail Monday night.

He faces one count of murder. His bond is set at $1.5 million dollars.
