The future of Kane Beef is still uncertain.
The company is set for auction on Wednesday, Feb. 6. An attorney overseeing operations told KRIS 6 News that the new buyers can resume operations at the plant immediately.
Most of Kane Beef’s 750 employees have not worked in at least a week after a deal to sell the company fell through last week.
Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend has scheduled six information sessions this week for Kane Beef’s furloughed workers.
Those sessions will be held today and tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. And again at 11:30 a.m. in English and 1:30 p.m. in Spanish.
The sessions will take place at 520 N. Staples St.
