A county official was taken to the hospital after his vehicle was rear-ended this morning at the Crosstown Expressway and FM 2444 intersection.
The accident involved four cars at a stoplight just before Crosstown on FM 2444, according to DPS officials working the scene. The driver of the white truck told officials he fell asleep before crashing into the back of the patrol car. The patrol car then bumped into the car in front of him in a chain-reaction.
The official was taken to the hospital with complaints of neck pain.
FM 2444 was down to one lane for awhile and affected traffic on the west bound lanes for a short time.
