Route changes have been announced for the 2019 Buc Days Illuminated Night Parade.
This year’s parade will begin at the American Bank Center, not Buc Stadium as it has in previous years.
Construction on the new Harbor Bridge Project is the cause for the route changes.
Organizers say they are still working on the details, but for now, the parade is expected to go down Chaparral Street and then continue down Leopard Street. .
“You know, it’s a challenge, but it’s something we embrace and look forward too for the next couple of years,” said Johnny Philipello, president and CEO of the Buccaneer Commission. “There’s a big bridge project going on. Once that’s complete will go back to Leopard Street. We’ll embrace the change, make it work and go from there.”
This year’s parade is scheduled for May 4.
