Authorities in San Antonio say the father of missing baby King Jay Davila has led investigators to the child’s body.

According to an arrest affidavit released today, Christopher Davila, King Jay’s father, led police to a bridge at the end of a dead end street in his neighborhood, where the boy’s body was wrapped in a blanket and placed inside of a black backpack.

Christopher Davila told police he had been playing video games on a bed, while King Jay was in a car seat at the edge of the bed, not strapped in.  The car seat fell of the bed, and King Jay fell forward.

Christopher told investigators that King Jay’s face may have hit a dresser as he fell, adding that he tried to keep the baby awake and that he had a large bump over his right eye.

He said that when he later checked on King Jay, he found the baby dead, according to the report.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has taken custody of the child’s body, no other details about the child’s death have been released.

Christopher remains jailed on a charge of injury to a child. His mother, Beatrice Sampayo, and cousin, Angie Torres are charged with Tampering With Evidence.

Police have accused the three of staging a kidnapping to cover up the baby’s disappearance.
