Deputies discovered a bag containing almost fifty thousand dollars.
According to a social media post from the Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Office, the discovery happened Dec 30 after they pulled over a vehicle on U.S. 281 South for a traffic violation.
Deputies noticed the driver, identified as Erick Edward Garcia of McAllen, Texas, displayed suspicious behavior and they asked if they could search the vehicle.
A search turned up the bag containing $47,560. Garcia was arrested at the scene.
He was charged with money laundering and placed in the Jim Wells County Jail.
