A telephone pole was snapped into half after it was struck by a large SUV.
When police arrived, they discovered a telephone pole snapped into half, while the top half ended up on a bunch of power lines.
Police were called out to the 2000 block of Mary Street just after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Residents told police a neighbor saw a vehicle hit the pole and the SUV continued to flee the crash scene.
The neighbor followed the vehicle and saw the vehicle park over at the Navarro Apartments.
Police found the driver of the SUV and impounded the vehicle.
He was given a citation for leaving the scene of an accident.
