Two people are in the hospital with gunshot wounds after a man went to the home of his ex-girlfriend to confront and shoot her, according to officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department.
The shooting happened on the 700 block of West Point Road just after midnight.
The man walked into the home of his ex-girlfriend and opened fire, hitting the woman at least once, according to Lt. Phillip Bintliff with the CCPD. The father of the woman then fired back.
“Actually one of the rounds did hit his girlfriend, ex-girlfriend, we are still trying to determine that,” Bintliff said. “The female’s father fired back striking our suspect.”
The condition of the woman is not known at this time. The suspect is said to be in critical condition.
