The Aransas Pass High School varsity cheerleaders performed at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla. today.
About 800 cheerleaders from across the nation performed before the Kentucky-Penn State football game.
The Aransas Pass High School cheerleaders earned the invitation to cheer at the bowl game by winning the first place trophy at the UCA Cheer Camp this summer at South Padre Island. They started fundraising in April and contributed about $20,000 for the trip.
“Over half of the squad had never flown and or visited Disney. So it’s been an awesome experience,” said Aransas Pass High School cheer coach, Isabel Flores.
The squad is staying at a Disney resort and is visiting a Disney park each day.
