CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend has a lot of great home builders, and this weekend will be your last chance to take a look at some of the newest homes and get a feel for some new trends at the 2019 Parade of Homes.

Looking to build a home? How about getting some inspiration on how to remodel or redecorate your kitchen? The Coastal Bend Home Builders Association is pleased to present a preview of its 2019 Parade of Homes entries.

This weekend, the Coastal Bend Home Builders Association will be wrapping up its 64th annual Parade of Homes.

“Thirty homes are included in this year’s event with homes located on the Island, Annaville, and the southside of town," CBHA executive officer Wendy Herman said. "The Coastal Bend Home Builders Association hosts this event every year. We usually get over 1,000 people to view the homes, however, with adding a third weekend this year, we hope for 1,500.”

Seventeen home builders will feature homes of all sizes, styles, and prices in a variety of communities. The parade hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

“The houses are priced from $160k up to $1.4 million," Herman said. "Most of us cannot afford a $1.4 million dollar house, but maybe you could steal the look of their backsplash or add a landing space to your hallway. Lots of good ideas can be found.”

The homes can be toured for $7 per person with a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales going to “Operation Finally Home.” It's a national, non-profit organization with a unique network of experienced builders, suppliers and supporters dedicated to building mortgage-free homes for wounded, ill or injured veterans, surviving spouses and their families.

Ticket sales from this event will also benefit the Coastal Bend HBA Scholarship Fund, which was set up in 2018 to assist outstanding young men and women who wish to make the residential building industry their career.
