The big day is almost here, and last-minute shoppers are rushing through stores to find the perfect gift.
“I just got off of work so, it’s time to get all my shopping done,” says Christina Carrillo.
Whether you’ve just started your shopping or you have a few more people left on the list, La Palmera Mall anticipates Christmas Eve morning to be busy with shoppers.
Some retailers are also seeing an uptick in certain purchases, “toys, we have a big toy department where the landscape has changed a little bit with toys, with Toys R Us not being with us anymore,” says JcPenny’s Store Manager, Jeff Jordan. “So, customers are depending on us to provide some of those great toys at their kids looking for.”
A few other gift ideas that are gaining more popularity are tech gadgets such as drones, speakers and smartwatches. Jordan also says that diamonds are always a big hit in stores.
“It’s interesting, we’ll start to see a lot more men that day, as men are always kind of procrastinating and waiting until the last minute.”
La Palmera will open at 7 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.
Pictures with Santa will be available throughout the day as well as charity gift wrapping.
