A Corpus Christi mother is facing several charges after police said she made a false report about her missing child.

When police arrived at the home, the mother told police she couldn’t find her child and believed an ex-boyfriend may have taken the child.

Police were called out to a home along the 2800 block of South Port Avenue just after 5:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Because of the circumstances surrounding the allegation, additional police officers arrived at the scene to search for the child. The search lasted for more than an hour.

Corpus Christi police search a Westside neighborhood for a possible missing child. The child was with a family member.

After investigators put in a few calls to the woman’s family members and searching the neighborhood, police received a phone call from the woman’s mother.

The grandmother told police her daughter dropped off her grandchild yesterday near Victoria, Texas and her grandchild was safe.

While police were inside the woman’s home, they say they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Police say the woman confessed to making a false report and was arrested.
