UPDATE: CCPD reports the accident has been cleared and traffic flow has returned to normal.
A major accident on Interstate 37 near the Highway 77 interchange has portions of the interstate blocked off coming into Corpus Christi.
Multiple cars are involved in the accident. A police officer’s unit was hit while investigating the original accident, according to our photographer on scene.
No other information is known at this time. Avoid the area if possible.
