It appears that 12 Wienerschnitzel stores are coming to the city of Houston, and customers in “The Space City” couldn’t be more excited.
According to NBC affiliate KPRC, the first Wienschnitzel location will be opening in New Caney in the northern suburbs.

Once word hit social media about the new fast food restaurants, everyone in Houston expressed joy, excitement, and even a sense of nostalgia.
Of course what is news to one city is not the case here in Corpus Christi. That’s because Wienerschnitzel has been serving local customers for at least several decades, providing the Coastal Bend with iconic menu items like Junkyard Dogs and Chili Cheese Fries at five local locations.
Some Houstonians were quick to point out that there are several stores open in the Coastal Bend area.

Usually, Corpus Christi residents complain on social media that the area doesn’t attract restaurants compared to bigger cities. But it turns out that at least one fast-food chain is one of the highlights out-of-towners patronize when they visit the “Sparkling City by Sea.”
It is nice to know Corpus Christi has at least one humble eatery chain – in many cases open until 2 a.m. – that Houston doesn’t have.
At least for now.
