Two Corpus Christi teens are facing serious charges after police say they broke into a home in the Pharaoh Valley neighborhood and stole a firearm.

Police say a homeowner, who just recently installed a security system, called them after he got an alert someone was inside his home.

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the 1200 block of Clarion Drive near McArdle Road.

When an officer arrived at the scene, he saw three teens in the area around the home, fleeing from his patrol car.

The officer was able to detain two of the teens, as he called for additional backup looking for another teen who was able to flee the crime scene.

As a result of the crime scene, additional officers blocked off intersections so they could find the suspects. Eventually, police found all the suspects.

K-9s were called to the scene to recover a gun taken from a home.

The homeowner told police he recognized the suspects because he had helped them out before in the past.

Two teenage suspects were taken to the Nueces County Juvenile Center.
