Many members of the community came together to sit, sip and shop at the 4th annual Shop Small Event hosted by Coffee Waves on Alameda.
Several local small business owners were able to showcase their items. Owner of Coffee Waves Cora Johnson says events like these are important because when people contribute to these small local businesses, the support can benefit our area.
“That’s how cities grow when you support local you’re helping those individuals grow and you’re investing back into your city,” says Johnson.
This was the first time for small business owner Jaxie ODell to participate in an event like this.
“I want to take this and i really want to run with it because i feel as if each, every person here they have their own business and their own skill sets and their able to display that through their own creative way and people come and their able to say “wow i really relate to this” or “I understand” well it’s like there’s a story behind this..so let me tell you,” Says ODell.
Odell says her business ‘Growing in Love’ comes from her heart, ODell says she wants to make sure that same heart, along with her custom designs can go into people’s homes as well.
