Hundreds of people set their alarm clocks early on this holiday for nothing else than to chase a turkey.
The Turkey Chase brought in participants of all ages for a four mile run, two mile walk and 1K kids run.
The fun began at Heritage Park this morning at 6:30 a.m. One runner said there is only one specific reason for participating this morning.
“This is my legitimate reason to have pie,” Tammy Holbert said, who flew in from Dallas late last night and still made the early run.
Several dogs were also out this morning enjoying the run before the big feast.
It is unclear if anyone ever caught the turkey.
