The recent bout of winter weather in the Coastal Bend left some endangered sea turtles in need of some rehab.
Ten cold-stunned green sea turtles found at the Padre Island National Seashore on Wednesday are now recovering at the Texas State Aquarium.
Frigid temperatures can make the turtles lethargic and in extreme cases, even kill them.
The turtles will stay at the aquarium’s Wildlife Rescue Center until they are healthy enough to be returned to the wild.
Last year, the Texas State Aquarium rehabilitated more than a thousand cold-stunned turtles.
