A local man had to be rescued by Corpus Christi firefighters today after a tree he was trimming fell onto him.
According to CCFD Battalion Chief Jim DeVisser, a man was on the roof of a home on Jo Ann Street around noon today, trimming a downed tree limb. When the tree fell further, the man’s leg was pinned to the roof.
Rescue crews were able to free the man, and he was transported to Spohn Shoreline Hospital with significant injuries to his leg, DeVisser said.
DeVisser said it took the rescue crew less than 30 minutes to respond to the call and get the man off the roof and into an ambulance.
