Schlitterbahn has announced major upgrades to the Corpus Christi water park.

Diamond Beach Holdings LLC are the new owners of the attraction which sits on the Island.
The company is putting forth more than $5 million in major upgrades in hopes that they can attract more guests from around the world.
“We really want to serve the needs of Corpus Christi, we want to serve the future of Corpus Christi and we want to contribute to that future,” says Experiential Dynamics partner Bill Dever.
The park is planning to add a virtual reality room along with laser tag. Another area will be dedicated to gamers and will be used to host E-Sports tournaments.
New ballrooms are being constructed that could be used for weddings, banquets or any other gathering a guest would want.
“We’re really looking forward to having people from all over the world coming to this property to enjoy what we have to offer here,” said Stephanie Pickett, general manager of Schlitterbahn Corpus Christi.
A movie theater in the pool area will include a state of the art projection that will be used for weekly screenings of motion pictures. Guests can take a dip while watching movies at the same time.
Schlitterbahn staff hope these upgrades will attract more tourists and create more jobs.
The park will also provide a world-class culinary area at the Veranda with new menu items.
The upgrades are expected to be ready by spring, Schlitterbahn officials said.
