A woman charged in the killing of a transgender woman will go to trial after rejecting a plea deal.
Chloe Huehlenfeld was offered a 20-year sentence.
Instead, she’ll be tried on charges of murder and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Jury selection is now underway.
Huehlenfeld is one of four people charged in the death of Stephanie Montez.
She was found dead in October 2017 on County Road 61 just outside of Robstown.
Meanwhile, a second defendant in the case, Randy Dorsey, pleaded guilty yesterday to a charge of engaging in criminal activity. He will be sentenced after all defendants in this case go to trial.
