Democratic Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke held a rally over at Del Mar College.

O’Rourke was introduced to the crowd by U.S. Representative Joe Kennedy III Saturday morning over inside the Richardson Performance Hall over at the community college’s east campus.

O’Rourke rode out onto the stage on a skateboard to start off his speech, which he was given backstage by Corpus Christi native and American novelist Bret Anthony Johnston.

Before he addressed the crowd, the Democratic candidate spoke with local media about what he has seen on the campaign trail and expressed he saw many young voters.

“So we have been showing up and they are turning out. They are going to stand up and be counted on the sixth of November, I’m so excited,” O’Rourke said.

He added he was grateful for all of their support.

After the event, O’Rourke traveled to McAllen to give another speech.
