The Corpus Christi Fire Department will open its doors to the public this week.

That’s because this is National Fire Prevention Week and fire department will host an open house on Wednesday.

All 18 fire stations around the city will take part in the open house and the public is invited to visit any fire station.

You can visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

They’ll answer all of your questions and show you what its like to be a firefighter.

Captain James Brown says,”Some people have never visited a fire station, and the probably maybe have never spoken to firefighters, so it gives them a time to interact, of course, there may be refreshments there, there’ll be something for the kids, something to give out, but there’ll be something for everyone.”

You’ll also get a chance to talk to fire station crews and they’ll have some home safety tips for you.
