Flu season is arriving soon and the health clinics around Corpus Christi and the rest of the Coastal Bend are starting to prepare.

Last year’s flu season was one of the worst in years. And this year, medical experts still are not sure how bad this year will be.

“There’s really no way to tell,” Promptu Health Clinic Dr. Guy Racette said. “Last year was a pretty significant flu season, lot’s of flu type A and this year we’ve only had one or two positive screens.”

While it is still early in the flu season, some of the health clinics around town have already seen flu-positive patients and this worries some health officials.

“I’m a little worried for it this year as well because last year was pretty bad,” Dr. Kim Onufrak from the Corpus Christi Nueces Public Health District said.

Right now, doctors are encouraging the public to get flu vaccinations as soon as they can and also practice good hygiene techniques.
