Major Brooks County power outage delays schools

AEP is reporting a power outage affecting over 2,000 customers in Brooks County.

As a result, all Brooks County ISD schools will run on a delay.

Due to power outage, all school staff will report to campus at 9am and students will start at 9:30am.Bus routes will start @ 8:30am.

Teachers and staff are to report at 9 a.m. and students will begin classes at 9:30 a.m.

The Falfurrias Police Department says the outage is caused by a “problem with the power plant” and say crews are on scene working on the issue.
