The Citizens for Educational Excellence has announced a new partnership with Goodwill Industries.

The Citizens for Educational Excellence created the Coastal Compass Education and Career Resource Center to help people who are looking to continue their education or find a job.

The resource center located at La Palmera has partnerships with several local school districts, local universities, the Craft Training Center, Workforce Solutions and various groups.

This morning, officials with the Citizens for Education Excellence announced people can now come into the Coastal Compass office to find out how Goodwill can help them continue their education or enter into a skilled program.

This partnership will allow a Goodwill Industries staff member to remain in the Coastal Compass every Friday between 2pm and 6pm to answer anyone’s questions.

Goodwill Industries President and Chief Executive Officer John Owen said he’s excited about the new partnership. He said this will allow Goodwill Industries to help more people. “Whether they want to continue their education, whether they want to go onto a skilled training program or whether they just need help, saying “I don’t know how to fill out a job application. I don’t know how to go through a job interview. I have a poor work history”. So, those are the kinds of things Goodwill can help with,” Owen said.
