When motorists cross over the Harbor Bridge and prepare to exit onto North Beach after heavy rain, many will turn around.
For many years, heavy storms have produced unbearable flooding conditions in the area.
In June, a heavy rain transformed North Beach roadways and parking lots into areas resembling small rivers.
But for North Beach residents, turning back is not an option. Continually facing those waters can be a challenge.
Some homeowners complain about standing storm water. One says her drainage system has changed drastically with the construction of the new Harbor Bridge.
The change results in a process that she says is frustrating.
