Border Patrol agents near Laredo foiled a human smuggling earlier today.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents were conducting immigration inspections at the Interstate 35 checkpoint on September 7, when a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to a Chevrolet sedan.
Inspection of the vehicle revealed two undocumented immigrants hidden inside the trunk.
Border Patrol says an immigration inspection determined that the subjects were Mexican nationals. Both were found in good health, and processed accordingly.
The car’s driver, a U.S. citizen, was arrested.
