The city of Corpus Christi’s new sandbag distribution system will be at West Guth Park this Saturday.
The new, automated sand filling machine will be at 9700 Up River Road from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 8.
The city says residents will be allowed to fill and take home six, 50-pound sandbags per vehicle, free of charge.
Port of Corpus Christi volunteers will be on site to assist with filling, but the city does recommend residents bring a pair of gloves, and someone to help load the bags.
