Parents in the Alice School District received a letter warning them about “limited evidence” of “an actual threat” at Alice High School.

“Recently we received a written communication of a threat to the school,” the letter reads. “AHS administrators have been working with city authorities on this investigation and have concluded that there is limited evidence of an actual threat.”

The letter also states that the district realizes that despite the steps it has taken, “we are not immune and must remain vigilant.”

The letter then lists basic safety rules for the school’s safety and security and a way for parents and their children to communicate about working together to lessen security concerns.

The letter was written by Alice High School principal Cidonio Cantu Jr. and co-signed by five other key district administrators.
