The arrest numbers are in after a DWI crackdown was held over the Labor Day weekend.
Almost two dozen officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department as well as Department of Public Safety troopers teamed up for this event.
Police say that 50 people were arrested for drunk driving over the weekend.
Corpus Christi police report 23 arrests. DPS troopers added 27 arrests.
Both local law enforcement agencies teamed up for the no refusal, zero tolerance DWI crackdown.
CCPD Senior Officer Samantha Baldwin says, “There are people out there killing people. But intoxicated drivers are killing people on our roads more than homicides are right now.”
