Nueces County: Free hurricane preparedness fair planned for Thursday

NUECES COUNTY – Nueces County will host a Community Hurricane Preparedness Fair on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds (1213 Terry Shamsie Blvd., Robstown, TX).

The general public is invited to bring your family, friends, and neighbors to learn more about how to be prepared for hurricanes and other emergency situations.

There will be food, giveaways, family-friendly activities and lots of helpful information and tips on how to be prepared for emergencies.

Emergency vehicles will be on display along with public safety characters Cell Phone Sally, Ready Bee and McGruff will also be attending.

The event is a cooperation of many community partners dedicated to the message of preparedness.

Judge Neal stated, “We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our community partners who have stepped forward to help share the message of preparedness to the rural residents of Nueces County. I hope that everyone will do their part to help encourage participation for this important community event.”
