Border Patrol seizes more than 800 pounds of marijuana hidden in brush

Border Patrol agents yesterday confiscated more than 800 pounds of marijuana hidden in the brush near Zapata, Texas.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents fro the Rio Grande Valley and Laredo Border Patrol Sectors responded to a report of possible drugs being hidden in the brush near Zapata.

Agents use a K9 team to search the area and discovered the drugs hidden beneath a camouflage tarp.

CBP says 44 bundles of marijuana, weighing 808 pounds, were seized. The drugs have an estimated street value of $646,924.46.

The marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
