CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Corpus Christi police say they have arrested a man in connection to a fatal stabbing that happened Sunday afternoon.
The stabbing happened inside the Calallen Walmart store along US Highway 77 just before 3 p.m. Sunday.
Witnesses said the incident took place in the food department of the store.
When first-responders arrived, they discovered the victim, indentified as Gabriel Cooley, a kicker on the Calallen football team, with stab wounds. He was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead.
Police say 20-year-old Billy Ferguson was arrested and charged with murder.
