ROCKPORT, Texas — After most local gatherings were canceled due to COVID-19 back in March, new local festivals are slowly being announced.
The inaugural Rockport-Fulton Pirate Festival is set for later this month at the Aransas County Navigation District Fairgrounds.
The event will be held Father's Day weekend, June 20 - 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m..
Organizers promise free face painting, tug of war games for prize money, pirate ship battles with Cannons Blasting, and they have offered free booth space to local attractions, civic associations, churches, and non-profits.
Make sure to dress up like a pirate for a chance to get a piece of a $1,000 cash prize pool for best pirate costumes.
The festival staples - food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, and live music - will also be available.
