125 students from 13 local school districts had a chance to shop for back to school clothes thanks to a non-profit.

This is the 13th year Communities In Schools has taken kids whose families are on a tight budget shopping.

Each child received $100 and they made their money go far. Most kids getting head-to-toe outfits.

One student we talked with says he’s grateful for the support. He’s one of 14 kids in his family.

Timothy Arevalos says “There’s some points we struggle, but we can do it as a family. We build that strong connection. The money helps the family buy new clothes and stuff like that.”

Timothy is a senior at Moody High School. Two of timothy’s siblings also took part in today’s shopping spree.

CPL donated $7,500 to make today’s event possible. Also, J.C. Penny  wrote a grant for $5,000 and Cheniere Energy donated $2,500.
