CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you've still got some holiday shopping to do, the city has some suggestions on how to avoid getting stuck in traffic.
The message from the city's street operations director is to avoid heavily congested areas like SPID and use side streets like McArdle or Weber.
Although those routes have more traffic lights, you'll get to your destinations quicker and also avoid some of the area's construction zones.
“Look beforehand just spend a little time see where construction is going on,” said Albert Quintanilla, Director of Street Operations.
“You save a lot more time than you'd spend sitting in traffic trying to go through a construction zone.”
