A legendary rock band is giving back to colleges around the United States.

Metallica is giving money to ten different community colleges as a part of their scholars initiative grant.

The band’s “All Within My Hands” Foundation will award each institution with $100,000 dollars.

This past week the winners were announced and many were excited for what’s next to come.

Sheree Utash, the WSU Tech President, said, “This grant will allow us the opportunity to take 25 women from our community and be able to create a training opportunity and an educational opportunity and a career opportunity for either welding, machining, or sheet metal assembly.”

President Utash says the new program will begin in next July.
