After giving birth earlier this year, and a recent weekend performance at the Global Citizens Festival where she expressed the importance of voting, security used umbrellas and attempted to cover the stars face from the public as she re-emerged from the Queens Police Precinct with her lawyer, Jeff Kern, shortly after 12 p.m. (ET)
“We are not aware of any evidence that she caused anybody any harm at the club that night,” Kern told reporters. “We expect that the matter is going to be resolved expeditiously.”
A representative for two women in the Angels Strip Club altercation said that Cardi B’s celebrity shouldn’t influence punishment for the alleged crimes.
“Cardi B ordered and committed violent assaults against my clients, and is being called to justice for her crimes,” Joe Tacopina, a representative for the two women told NBC New York. “Apparently she thinks her celebrity status puts her above the law since she has bragged to multiple people and on social media that she orchestrated these vicious attacks,” he said.
“But reality is setting in, as justice does not care whether her name is Cardi B or Carly B, and she will now answer for her crimes.”
Cardi B is required to appear for an arraignment at a later date.
