CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Today, the Coastal Bend's largest local teachers' union held a virtual question-and-answer session about the coronavirus impact on schools.

The Corpus Christi American Federation of Teachers set up a panel at their headquarters that included Dr. Nancy Vera, Alice Upshaw Hawkins with the CCISD board, a registered nurse and an education specialist.

The group answered questions on Facebook ranging from whether employees will continue to get paid and how the school district will ensure cleanliness in its classrooms and cafeterias.
