The Nueces Co. Tax Assessor-Collector's Office made some changes Monday to avoid a complete shutdown because of COVID-19.

The biggest change is the installation of a payment drop-box at the office in the Nueces Co. Courthouse.

A drop box has also been installed at the Calderon Building in Robstown.

Tax Assessor Kevin Kieschnick said he's also adjusting work schedules so that only half of his staff is in the office at any one time.

The offices in Bishop and Port Aransas have been temporarily closed. There's no word on when they will reopen.
